Emergencies and Urgent Care for Children

In case of an ’emergency’ or when the surgery is closed, you have below options available to you:

INFORMATION REGARDING URGENT CARE FOR CHILDREN IN SOUTH TYNESIDE

If a same day GP appointment is needed and none are available at the surgery you will be advised to call NHS 111 who will either book the child into the GP hub at South Tyneside, direct to the new South Tyneside Urgent Care for Children Service, or dircet to Paediatric Emergency Care at Sunderland Royal Hospital. Parents/ carers should NOT attend South Tyneside Urgent Care for children as a ‘walk in’ you must ring NHS 111 who will redirect you to the most appropriate service.
